Keeping in mind the reaction a projection would have on material, I tried to find a use for some light grey projection material. From all the test’s I did in the theatre, projection from the back worked best. In a black box theatre, this material picks up the light quite well, and when fitted properly can hide gear/ speakers. Each stage base turns into a projectable surface….
But what about the visibility of the musicians? The stages are 4 feet x 4 feet, which would be the smallest footpath for a keyboard player or a digital percussion setup.
The projections within the stage design helps maintain the round shape and focal point… but what is the point of elevating the musicians to be in a black room and not see them??
